PTA: Volunteer Activities Print E-mail

We need volunteers for various projects through the year. Contact any PTA board member and let them know which activity/activities are of interest to you and when you are available to help.

Art History

Each year we ask parents to volunteer as "Picture Ladies (or Gentlemen)" to teach art history in our classrooms. Duval County offers training so don't be afraid to become a part of this very rewarding program.

Clothing Closet

Volunteers are needed to sort and straighten clothing donated for use in emergencies. If you have any donations to give, place them in a bag, mark the bag with "clothing closet" and give it to your child's teacher.

Fall Festival

Fall Festival is held in November. Every class is responsible for operating its own arts and crafts or game table. Each class needs help in operating their table and in ticket sales, set-up and clean-up.

Grant Preparation

Volunteers are needed to help solicit and write grant proposals for additional funding for equipment and special projects.

School Tours

Trained volunteers show visitors the school and introduce them to the Montessori Philosophy and classroom. Tours usually run from November to March.

Yearbook

Volunteers are needed to collect photographs and materials throughout the year, assemble the pages, sell personal notes and sell and distribute the yearbooks.

End of Year Staff & Faculty Luncheon

On the last day of school after all students have left, the faculty and staff gather together and unwind with a luncheon sponsored by the PTA. Door prizes and gift certificates are given away. Help is needed soliciting donations.
