Thank you for your big part in celebrating fall!
The Fall Festival was amazing due to the efforts of our PTA board, class liaisons, teachers, paras, alumni volunteers and YOU! I think we had the largest turnout of alumni. We always have students that return but this year takes the cake! The children seemed to have a great time and the auction was amazing! And I can’t say enough about the weather. Oh yes, and thanks to all who filled our tee-pee with T.P. The children thank you greatly as well.
I truly appreciate your involvement in your school. Isn’t it great to be to be in the land they call Axson Montessori? :)
You are invited to take part in our Flag raising ceremony Thursday
We are starting exactly at 8:40 am so please make every effort to be on time to school. The entire school will be gathered around the flag pole located in the front parking area. If you are staying for this event, (and we hope you can), would you mind parking in the rear parking lot? We are trying our best to block off parking spaces in the front for children to gather around the flag pole. (Our cones have suffered a number of casualties in efforts to keep drivers from cutting across the grass so we are down to just a few). The children are learning about our Veteran’s Day holiday and flag etiquette.
Have you completed your online volunteer form?
As part of the Jessica Lunsford Act, all adults involved with children on school grounds must be cleared by a security source. The district no longer sends cards, but Ms. Wendy, our office receptionist sends a listing of parents who have been cleared to volunteer. If you have recently applied, please let Wendy know and she will keep track and notify you when you have been cleared. If you have forgotten to apply, please open the attached document and sign up. It takes about five minutes. We greatly appreciate our parent volunteers greatly! (DCPS Online Volunteer Website)
Script Order Anyone?
Log on to www.scrippro.com and find a bunch of gift card vendors. You pay face value and Axson receives a percentage of the sale. The orders will be here for pick up before the Thanksgiving break if you order by November 14. (Form)
