Have you logged on to www.jaapta.org lately? All back issues of newsletters and most weekly updates can be found. You will also find links to Montessori and teacher websites as well as web pages to FAME, Dads on Hand, and PTA. If you have any feedback to make it even better please contact me.
FAME CAMPAIGN BEGINS
To provide paras in each classroom, I have begged you for money, served coffee, sold biscuits, made sandwiches, attended social events (the most strenuous task of all J), and did I mention begging? You will be receiving an events flier to support FAME next week. If everyone gave one dollar a day for each child, we would more than make our goal to provide a para in each classroom. I set up my automatic bill pay to FAME to be taken from each paycheck so my donation doesn’t feel painful. J FAME deposits are being made each week.
CALLING ALL AXSON FAMILY BUSINESSES
We all understand the stress of our economy and when I purchase goods or services, I like to frequent businesses of Axson families. For instance, if I need home repair (or school repair), items I go to Home Depot at the beach. If I want a sandwich, I go to Quiznos or Chick fil-A, both at Towne Centre. If I need to buy flowers or landscaping materials I go to Earthworks. This year, we want to dedicate a section of advertising from Axson family businesses. Please consider placing an advertisement in our yearbook and be sure to mention that you are an Axson family business.
DON’T FORGET TO PURCHASE AN AD FOR THE YEARBOOK
I have attached the order form for placing ads in the yearbook. The deadline is very soon. You can purchase 3 lines, a quarter page, half page or full page. You may wish to thank a teacher or staff member or tell your child how terrific they are.
RECYCLING COMES TO AXSON
In my last “Axson Weekly Update,” I mentioned the two paper dumpsters located near the entrance of our campus. Please drop off your paper and catalogs and save the city of Jacksonville money at the same time. We also have recycle bins located between buildings 1 and 3 for students to dispose of plastic bottles.
