Each year the J. Allen Axson PTA executive committee works with Principal Renfro to evaluate how best to support the school. As a result of the budget issues of late the PTA will support Principal Renfro as she needs with an emphasis on Cultural Programs and Instructional Materials.
Throughout the year, J. Allen Axson PTA supports programs that the school budget cannot fund. These include accelerated reader, gardening, mile maker, music, nutrition, Renfro's Readers and much more. (A copy of this years PTA budget will be available here shortly before the start of the new year)
The Montessori approach to education is more hands on and this translates into a need for (preferably) para-professionals in each classroom. Due to budget declines and the class size amendment there is limited money for adding this instructional support and so Friends of Axson Montessori Elementary (F.A.M.E.) was formed to raise money to fund such positions. J. Allen Axson PTA accepts donations from individuals, families, and businesses. We run fundraisers throughout the Fall semester (spring semester fundraising primarily goes to F.A.M.E.) including sale of the Entertainment Books, school T-Shirts, and the Fall Festival. Please do whatever you can to support these endeavors with donations of time and/or money.
