PTA: Executive Committee Print E-mail

The 2010-2011 J. Allen Axson PTA Committee is as follows

dickinson President: Bambi Dickinson
My name is Bambi Dickinson and I will serve as the PTA President for the 2010-2011 school year. This is my third year serving on the board. My child will be in the fourth grade this year at J. Allen Axson. PTA contributes in many ways to support J. Allen Axson including such things as the Accelarated Reading Program, Mile Maker T-shirts, and teaching supplies. I am very excited the PTA is focusing on providing shade structures for the playgrounds though fundraising efforts. My personal experience with skin cancer has made me realize how important it is to protect our children from the harmful rays of the sun.
nophoto Treasurer: Monyette Johnson
As a new member to the executive committee, I am looking forward to working with the other members of the team to ensure our resources continue to support those programs and activities that enrich our children's lives. I have two children who attend Axson and am looking forward to a wonderful year with PTA.
weigert Recording Secretary: Catherine Weigert
My name is Cathrine Wiegert and I will be the PTA Recording Secretary this school year. I have three children that currently attend Axson. I am looking forward to supporting the school and our teachers through the PTA’s programs and fundraising.
lisa Membership: Lisa Horlbeck
This is my second year as chair of membership. I have three children who attend J. Allen Axson.  My goal is to increase PTA awareness among our families.  By joining PTA at J. Allen Axson, you automatically become a member of both the Florida PTA and National PTA, adding your voice to one of the world's largest childrens advocacy organizations.  It is with the support of our families and staff, both financially and through vonteerism, that we are able to provide the many programs that benefit our children throughout the year. Smile
anderson Fundraising: Kelli Anderson
My name is Kelli Anderson and I will serve as PTA fundraiser for the 2010-2011 school year.  This is my first year serving on the PTA. I have two daughters at J. Allen Axson, one in second grade and the other in Pre-K 4.  I have worked in the food and beverage industry for over 12 years and am currently attending school full time for nursing. I thought being on the PTA executive committee would be a great way to give back to such a great school as J. Allen Axson.  I am very honoerd to my children attend the school.  My goal is to do as much fundraising as possible to get the shade structures for the safety of all of our kids.
nophoto Hospitality: Shannon Bond
vanessa Programs: Vanessa Brackett
leila Art Enrichment: Leila Pordelli
My names are Leyla Pordeli and I coordinate the Art Enrichment Program (AEP). AEP helps our kids to learn Art Criticism (an important component of visual arts education). Art Criticism simply means to slow down and look at an art work and not to judge quickly. As a part of our PTA programs, we encourage our parents or grandparents to participate and volunteer for this amazing art program. We need a volunteer/s in each classroom to participate in this wonderful program and lead students through a critique of a work of art by simply asking simple age appropriate questions. Feel free to contact me (above) if you have any questions about this wonderful program.
budd Fall Festival: Tara Budd
guck Class Liason: Tara Guckenberger
My name is Tara Guckenberger and I will be the PTA Class Liaison for the 2010-2011 school year. I have two children attending Axson this year. As Class Liaison, I will communicate between the PTA and each classroom regarding the many programs, fundraisers and activities that J. Allen Axson has going on throughout the year.
chalk Technology Officer: Stuart Chalk
This is my fourth year serving on PTA exec committee and my second as technology officer.  I have loved J. Allen Axson ever since I met Principal Renfro and Kathy Bear on a tour of the school (the old school downtown) back in early 2002. Giving back to the school is my way of saying thank you to the teachers and staff that have made my kids early learning experiences so enjoyable. My oldest daughter graduated from Axson last year (Jessica is now at La Villa) and my youngest, Casey, is in fourth grade with Mrs. Durham.
